The John T. Forcellese
Memorial Fund was created to honor the life, spirit, and enduring legacy of
John, who passed away at just 24 years old in 2000, after a courageous 8 ½ year
battle with osteosarcoma. Though his life was far too short, John’s impact on
his family, friends, and community continues to be felt every day as we honor
the values he embodied - perseverance, generosity, and a love for family and
friends.
The fund has proudly supported
students by awarding 302 scholarships to date, helping them pursue their dreams
and build bright futures. It also gives
back to the communities John cherished by supporting local youth baseball,
basketball, soccer, hockey, sailing, golf and dance teams, ensuring that young
athletes have the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive. In addition, John’s Team will continue to raise
funds for the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute by participating in its Jimmy Fund
Walk for the 27th consecutive year.
